Motion Capture
Autoskeleton Tool Test and Motion Animation Blending
Getting used to MotionBuilder again. Used a low rez character model I created a while ago to blend some animations that I got from the free files available on TurboSquid. Blended them together for a mini little story of a guy getting knocked down in a fight. Fixed from previous file to use UV'd character and fixed a couple oddities in the animation.
Uncanny Perception
This is one condition used in the study that was part of my thesis research. Motion capture was used for the animation. Due to limited resources and time constraints, it was determined that this pre-visualization level of quality was good enough for our purposes so it was not fully rendered out. The video was presented to viewers who were then asked a series of questions that were designed to determine how they perceive the character. Each person saw a different video with the same character but a slightly modified face. A link to the paper can found just below for further details.
I was responsible for the motion data collection and most of the data cleaning, I had one animator helping with some of the workload in cleaning and polishing. I also handled all the modeling, texturing, lighting and camera work.
Floor is Lava
This was a thesis project directed by a peer of mine, Christopher Adamson, at CSU Chico. I participated by creating the character model as well as helping with the performance data capture, data clean up and render wrangling.
